Is this too much to spend?

OK - My wedding is going to cost us about $6000 or $7000 for the 2 of us only - no bridal party, no reception...

The total cost includes my gown, airline tickets, car rental, the actual ceremony/flowers/cake/photographer/video...

Pretty much everything.

Do you think this is a lot to spend on a wedding with no guests? This also includes a mini-honeymoon.

Thanks in advance!

Is this too much to spend?
Not too much at all, especially since it sounds like a destination wedding. Have fun and enjoy your big day!
Reply:That is defo not too much to spend on a wedding.

Congrats on getting married n I hope you have a good day!

xxx
Reply:Not really.
Reply:It's roughly what I would expect to pay for a 2 week holiday, I live in the UK so a holiday to the states for 2 people would be about that sort of money, so no, I don't think it too much for a holiday and wedding, if you can afford it then go for it!
Reply:Our formal wedding (in Australia) on 5th April '08 is only going to cost (under) $3,000.

We are having nearly 100 guests and a 2 week honeymoon.

the $3,000 includes:

All clothing - mens suits and brides %26amp; bridesmaids gowns, Pageboy, flower-girl and ushers clothing.

Catering - for 100 people

Rings - Brides and Grooms,

Flowers for the wedding party and to decorate the venue,

Decorations for the venue,

Venue- itself,

and wedding favors

%26amp; our honeymoon.

The works!

So Yes! I would consider $7,000 quite a lot to spend on 2 people and a honeymoon!
Reply:In hindsight I would rather spend the money on a down payment for a house or something concrete.
Reply:no, if your happy thats all that matters! And if it includes the honey moon too, then it sounds pretty reasonable to me
Reply:If your financialy Fudged...well yes..other wise its THE day, if its beautiful, its worth it!
Reply:No its not bad because you have everything in there. I wish I could be spending that for my wedding and we are just renewing our vows and spending more then that. You are at a good price don't worry about that. Just be happy with the great you are going 2 have.
Reply:Nope, that is reasonable.

Any time you do anything other than go to the courthouse, it's going to cost several thousand $$$.
Reply:its a fair amount, you could go lower but thats the average. congratz! im so happy for you!
Reply:It's fine considering there's a honeymoon involved. But, who's going to eat the cake? And other than you, what's the photographer going to take pictures of? Just wondering. Congratulations!
Reply:Nope.
Reply:i think its good b/c arlint tickets and photograph is alot right there. good choice not to do stuff like a bridal party, just a waste of $$
Reply:with a two week holidays its not too much
Reply:its a little pricey...but sedona isnt cheap...I live about an hour from there. And its a tourest town!

congrats!! Sedona is BEAUTIFUL!
Reply:It just depends. Are you rich? Are you poor? or you have enough money? are you in debt? If you guys dont have money problems then it will be fine
Reply:That's definitely not a lot for two people when you're also getting a holiday for it as well. Actually, that's pretty cheap. I've paid triple that for a holiday (albeit lasting a few months) just for myself, and the two of us will be paying about $12,000 together for a 2-month trip to Africa.

I would rather spend that $6,000 on a wedding that included a vacation than just on the ceremony and reception alone! But that's just me - I'd take the trip any day! (But I'm a HUGE traveller so holiday vs big wedding is a no brainer for me. Haha.)

Congrats! It sounds like it's going to be gorgeous.
Reply:For me yes, but if you can afford it without putting yourselves in a bind, then go for it.
Reply:Wow ! Yes! Way too much! But then I am a tightwad.
Reply:if possible i would try and trim expenses a bit, i feel it is

a little high.
Reply:i wouldn't really know, but it doesn't sound like it.

when i think of expensive weddings i think of those shows on tv where they go crazy shopping and spend $30,000 in no time.

crazyyy

:]
Reply:No, Not at all. THink about it, you get a gown, a cake, Rental car, planetickets, and a mini honeymoon. MOst people pay way more than that for a gown and a cake alone. If you ask me, that's a bargain!
Reply:Not at all. All the money you spend on weddings really is for you, half the guests don't even care about being there and the other half don't care about the flowers, photographs, gown, cake...
Reply:I don't think it is. It's your day and if this is the way you want it, then that's the way it should be. Hopefully, you only get married once and it should be what the two of you want. I don't think spending 6000 or 7000 on a wedding has anything to do with your being spend thrifts or not. Do what you want to do and have a blast!
Reply:That's not too much. Go ahead and make the best out of it.

And Congratulations!
Reply:wedding with no guest? hm.. thats confusing why would u like cake... flowers...with no guest?

anyway... i dont think is much.... good job
Reply:No, it's not too much. You could spend that much just on a two week vacation. So, I say, you're doing good. It's nice you're going to have a celebration later on because without one, it might feel a little blah. Congrats.
