Does this sound right for our processional/recessional?

1. Processional starts when musicians enter, playing.

2. Musicians process down to the front of the church %26amp; stand at the front , continuing to play as the rest of the bridal party enter.

3. Groom enters; everybody stands.

4. Bride enters.

5. Once bride reaches the front, music stops, everybody sits. Musicians continue to stand at the front.

6. After ceremony, musicians start playing. Bridal party recesses out. (Bride %26amp; groom remain at front with minister; photographer takes some pictures)

7. Musicians walk out the back of the church, still playing.

8. Guests file out the back of the church %26amp; pick up pinches of lavender flowers from bowls at the back. Wait on stairs. Appointed friend gets a car %26amp; drives up to pick up the B%26amp;G.

9. Photographer comes out %26amp; gets ready to shoot pictures of the bride and groom exiting.

10. Minister appears at the door, announces couple, couple descend stairs and guests throw lavender on them. Get into car.

11. All go to reception.

I think that sounds great. It's detailed and very organized so there will be very little if any at all issues during your ceremony. Good job. :0)
Reply:It all sounds good but I have always thought everyone stood as the bride entered.
Reply:The only issue I can see is that you're not walking down the aisle at the end of the ceremony. I'm accustomed to seeing the bride and groom, followed by the wedding party, in the recessional. Then the B%26amp;G usually sneak back into church for photos, and then make their grand exit.

I would be concerned that your guests will not leave when the attendants leave, and it might be a little confusing for the guests.
Reply:It sounds good except that you are asking guests to stay around while you take pictures. Are you taking pictures of the two of you with the wedding party and parents also? If so that takes quite a while. I know you want them to have the flowers to throw at you, but could it wait until you come to the reception?

If you dismiss guests to the reception while you take pictures, then they may wait for you there. While there they may have food and drinks while waiting. That gives them something to do instead of just waiting at the church for you to get finished with pics. They can throw the flowers when you enter or when you leave the reception area. ( I love the idea of having lavender.)

I don't see a problem with staying at the front of the church and not walking out. If you have a printed bulletin you could also give directions on that for what you want guests to do.
