A few different questions?

Ok first off my wedding is jewel theme. Jade, Pink, and blue because my hubby to be is wearing his army dress blues. what colors of flowers would look the best and what kind? I don't want large or very extravagant. maybe 5 flowers for the bridesmaids and up to 10 for mine. Also, what kind of decorations would look best with those colors? Is it normal to get tons of anxiety while trying to plan the wedding? And last question (i think) is why is it people do not like davids bridal? I ordered my wedding gown from them on sunday and they seem wonderful so far??? Thanks everyone!

A few different questions?
I think that if your wanting something simple just do white roses, and do some on the table flowers with the bright Jade, pink and blues. Also you can get tea light candles in the colors and just a

small dish and float them in water. It is very normal to get anxiety

i did all of my flowers, decorations and everyones hair so needless to say I was stressed ! I have helped alot of people with wedding and our trips to David's were amazing they always were very helpful maybe they just has a pad experience with there consultant. Hope this helps if you need any help I will try to help!
Reply:White cala lilly's are really popular right now for weddings...also roses are always good, you can get them in almost any color. If you're not sure about the color, you could always get white flowers and add color with ribbon and bows around the stems of the flowers. I would suggest checking out what kinds of flowers will be in season at the time of your wedding...this might help you narrow down your search a bit and will save you money.

Anxiety is normal. Don't be afraid to delegate; if you feel overwhelmed pass something off to your fiance or to one of your bridesmaids-that what they're there for.

I hate David's Bridal and their affiliate, After Hours Formal Wear (for tuxes). David's Bridal almost ruined my dress. First, they told me my dress would be ready in 2 weeks (and I paid extra for a rush on the alterations)...6 weeks and many nasty phone calls to manager later they still didn't have my dress ready. Finally, they finished the alternations the day before my wedding and while I was trying it on, the associate who was helping me stepped on the train and pulled out the 5 hooks/buttons for my bustle and ripped off a huge piece of the applique. Naturally, they had to keep the dress to fix what the associate ripped and I wasn't able to pick up my dress until the morning of my wedding. I also paid $550 for my tiara. Instead of giving me a new one, they gave me the try-on tiara and it had 7 crystals missing so I had to return it. After Hours is just as bad...they had the tuxes for 2 weeks and didn't bother to call me, my husband or any of the groomsmen so 2 days before the wedding everyone had to run around to get their tuxes and my husbands didn't even fit him...they ordered the wrong size, so my husband had to take a try-on tux jacket from the store and it didn't match the groomsmen tuxes.

If you can avoid going to David's Bridal, please do, especially if you're already feeling stressed. They will just add to the stress.
Reply:I love deep pink tulips and pink anemones. Here are some pictures:

For a simple, elegant look, I love single-flower bouquets. You could add some blue or green accents (like wrapping ribbon around the stems and gluing jewels to the ribbon).
Reply:Jewel tones are gorgoeus. My sister did that for her wedding and the result was a very rich look.

Go for simple flowers. A small nosegay of yellow roses and white carnations might be nice.

I'm lousy at decorating so I'm no help there.

Anxiety? You bet. Try to keep in mind that you are planning a celebration party and tone down the production values. People put WAY too much pressure on themselves to put on a good show. That is SO not necessary. Lowering expectations will help to get your anxiety in check.

I have no idea about David's. There isn't one in our city and I never heard of them until I started following this forum.
Reply:david's bridal is a big company but the stores are all individually owned.. quality of service depends on the staff at the location.. i have dealt with the same location b/c of 3 different weddings and have had varied experiences... hopefully yours will be a good experience.. they tend to treat the brides very well and the bridal party not as well.. always go with your girls for their fittings and they will no doubt get treated nicer if the staff know the bride is there..

also always make appointments and be on time
Reply:I would like malti colored tulips with that theme.
Reply:about the flowers, maybe have each bride's made have a different color flower, different color lilies perhaps and then keep yours white with a colored ribbon. you don't want it too busy. i assume it is normal to get anxiety while trying to plan a wedding, its a big event, but just remember it is your day and you can't please everyone so don't try. i don't know about everyone else, but the only time i went into a davids bridal they were very rude to me so i never went back again.
Reply:it depends what you get from db. i got a designer dress there, and i LOVE it. i know the bridesmaid dresses, not designer, are poor quality. i've heard many cases where they messed up alterations. i've had great experiences, until i went with bridesmaids last week, and the girl helping us was helping 2 other brides! we didn't get any help, but we found great bm dresses elsewhere. i love, love, love your jewel theme. dying blue roses is pretty. i think it might be nice to stick with white and pink for the flowers. lilies are beautiful, roses are most inexpensive (unless you're doing it in feb). i think all roses is pretty :) i'm doing that with no greenery at all. no leaves or anything. you could have pretty tasteful jewel things sticking out of your flowers. also, do pretty green bow around flowers, too.
Reply:Ok, first of all you need a wedding planner/consultant to assist you. Weddings are alot of work and it is not wise to have the load on the bride-to-be. There are on line resources that will give you some ideas and provide time lines. But just to answer your questions...The type of flower will depend on the season if you are using fresh flowers. I have worked with David's Bridal and they are great.
